    Terms & Conditions of Use


    Please read , accept and submit.
    COVID-19 UPDATE
    DURING LEVEL 1
    HYGIENE AND SANITATION : We are maintaining a heightened level of sanitation at the centre with hand sanitiser available at the door and request a good standard of cleaning after your event with disinfectant spray on all furniture used.
    ​

    ​CONTACT TRACING-.The QR code sign in poster is up on the Front door. Please make sure your group members sign in using this or if necessary on the sign in sheet. Include name of parent and child/children  and mobile number

    NO PERSON THAT IS UNWELL SHOULD ATTEND A GATHERING. 

    PA
    YMENT
    Payment of invoices is required at least 10 days prior to the event. Where these conditions of payment are not met the centre has the right to cancel the booking.

    CANCELLATION FEE
    The venue provider reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee of 25% of the total hire charge if the hirer cancels within 10 working days of the function date, 50% if cancelled within 5 working days of the function date, 100% if cancelled within 24 hours of the function start time.

    BOND
    A bond of $200 is required for all social functions.
    The Centre has the right to withhold all or part of the bond and charge the hirer for any additional costs  incurred including but not limited to the following:
    · Repair or damage to the premises, furniture,carpet or equipment,
    · Tidying away of furniture
    · Extra cleaning.
    · Staying beyond the contracted time.
    The Centre will refund the bond in full within 7 days of the date of hire subject to all the conditions of hire being met. Please supply a bank account after your event and return the key to the St Heliers Centre.

    HOURS OF ACTIVITIES
    Hirers must vacate the premises no later than 9.30pm including clean up. Hirers may not enter any facility until the time booked and all functions must end at the completion of the booked period. The booking period must include setting up, dismantling, and cleaning of the venue.

    CLEANING
    Hirers are responsible for packing down, cleaning and removing all rubbish from the address. Please do not put your rubbish in any of the bins outside the centre, ie take all rubbish including recycling items HOME with you.
    Failure to remove rubbish will result in removal costs being deducted from your bond . We can arrange for the venue to be set up and/or cleaned after your function.

    It is the responsibility of each hirer to vacuum/sweep and mop any area that they have used including kitchen and toilets.
    ​ A vacuum/mop/ cleaning products are located in the cleaning cupboard next to the kitchen on the left.


    NOISE COMPLAINTS
    Hirers are responsible for managing noise during the event. Noise from amplifiers and loudspeakers must be kept to a moderate level at all times. Failure to comply with this condition may result in the early closure of your function and  the Centre has the right to withhold your bond.

    PARKING
    Parking is available on the street and in the car park.
    ALWAYS leave the front of the building clear for emergency vehicles and for vehicles dropping off disabled people.

    SMOKING
    The Centre is a  smoke free area.

    ALCOHOL
    BYO Alcohol may be consumed on the premises under certain conditions.
    The Hirer is 18 years and over.
    No cost is expected from guests.
    Food and soft drinks must be available.
    The Hirer must be responsible for the safety and behaviour of their guests at the venue and when leaving the venue.
    Sober drivers must take guests home.
    All bottles must be taken home and NOT put in surrounding rubbish bins.
    The Manager must be informed of your desire to have alcohol at your event.
    This venue is not suitable for 18ths, 21sts or similar due to the 9.30pm lockdown of gates and centre doors.


    HEALTH AND SAFETY
    All hirers of the facility are responsible for the health and safety of all people attending their activity or event.
    The Centre’s Health & Safety Manual is available at  the Community Centre .
    No hazardous items are to be bought into the building.
    A first Aid kit is located in the kitchen on the top shelf and ice packs are ready for use in the freezer department.
    ​There is a fire blanket and extinguisher in the kitchen and a water hose in the foyer.


    BUILDING EVACUATION
    In the event of a fire or any need to evacuate the building EMERGENCY PROCEDURES must be followed. Please  follow the instruction on the signage at all exits.

    ATTACHMENT OF DECORATIONS
    Please ensure all decorations and fixings are removed after your event and only blutack to be used on paintwork.

    LOSS OR DAMAGE
    Glendowie Community Centre accepts NO responsibility for any loss or damage to any property of the hirer or any guest or participant with the hirer. No insurance is available to cover loss or damage even for property that the Centre has given permission to be stored or is left secured in any storage facility which may be provided.
    IN SUMMARY

    Please leave the centre as you find it. Clean up using vacuum, brushes, mops , surface sprays supplied in cleaning cupboard and replace furniture to the original place.
    ( Taking photos when you arrive can help)
    Bring your own T-Towels and rubbish bags x 2 . Take all rubbish and re-cycling home.
    Make sure all windows are locked with blinds down.
    You can leave the swipe key at the centre ( red bucket under the sink) Just close the front door behind you and it will lock.
